2021 Grocery Store Ops Report

New research uncovers operational challenges, priorities & planned initiatives in supermarket and grocery chains

Zenput's first ever Grocery Store Ops Report includes insights, trends, and benchmarks revealed by grocery chain operators in a survey conducted in collaboration with Technomic in February 2021.

Some key findings include:

Only 10% of grocery operators said they are able to address food safety concerns within 1 day; less than half are very confident in their ability to identify a food safety concern before it becomes an issue

Fewer than 50% of operators are very confident that tasks (e.g.,sanitization procedures, temp checks) are executed correctly or on time throughout the day
65% of operators have implemented enhanced sanitization procedures during the pandemic, and most intend to make these changes permanent
Each store audit takes district managers nearly nine hours to complete on average, and seven hours to create an action plan
